Greed
GreedGreed is a terrible and yet amazing source of driving force. It manipulates man-kind, brainwashes people, breaks ties, etc. Everyone knows it's evil, it's undesirable and yet so many of us succumb to it. I am almost certain(more than 90%) that this will not happen to me as i am someone who treasures relationships and ties for those who knows me well. For my friends out there, I do hope greed does not take over you cos when that do, you can strike me off your friend's list.
There's someone in the world called Neo Poh Heng, who succumbed to it. Stubborn and hot-temper was his character. Being the youngest in the family, he got lucky and get to pursue a degree, while his elder brother only get to study up to P4, and started working at the age of 12. That wouldn't be possible without the help of his second sister, whose husband took up a loan for him as guarantor.
Time flies. 30 over yrs passed. Their mum passed away recently. They were very sad and mourning over their beloved mum's death. That was 100 days ago. Now, it seems Poh Heng is able to put it all behind. It's not a bad thing. I believe that as his mum, she would be happy for him, unlike his elder brother and second sister. Afterall, all parents love their children. But this is when the problem starts.
Now Poh Heng wants to sell the house and fetch his dad over to his house. No problem with that, afterall his dad dotes on him and he is the only one giving him money every month. The dad is like a machine who is manipulated. He has no say over the decision of the house even though it's his. Now everything's more or less confirmed. Poh Heng schemed so that everything will go into his own pocket despite having 3 siblings. Bad mouth-ing, quarrels, picking on siblings, aggitating them. All ready to break ties in the family. The brother and sister i supposed.
Everything sounded dramatic. This sounds unreal as this is something that will only happen in dramas. But no this is true.
So, let me introduce you to Neo Poh Heng. He is my uncle, 小叔, whom i think will be a 'was' soon.
I felt numb and at the same time sorry for my dad, who is at the receiving end for all his shit. He shouldered responsibility for the family, even though he had 3 sons and 1 daughter, received little education and worked real hard to earn enough for the family and of course to support my grandma. Now that she's gone, everything changes. This made me wonder how much trust we can put in someone. As the saying goes '人心险恶', maybe it's really true. It's really tiring to be watching your back all the time, that's why i choose to put total trust in most of my friends, no matter how close they are. I really see no reason for them to stab me from behind. Anyway enough said. I think i should stop also.
I am not someone who likes to bad mouth pple, or at least this is what i think so. This post really pollutes my blog and I felt really disgusted that this post is in as well.
P.S. this Poh Heng has got nothing to do with the Jewellery shop.
